Dr. Albert obtained her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Loyola University Chicago and completed her Internship and Postdoctoral Fellowship in Pediatric Neuropsychology at Harvard Medical School. She has also trained at Children’s Hospital (both Chicago and Boston) and the Yale Child Study Center.
Dr. Albert’s areas of specialization include the psychological and neurocognitive assessment of children, adolescents and young adults, including the diagnosis of Specific Learning Disorders and Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder; evaluating eligibility for school or test accommodations; and assessing the emotional and cognitive status of patients with acquired neurocognitive disorders secondary to neurologic disorder or injury. Additional areas of interest include assessing temperament and impulse control difficulties; assessing treatment outcome after pharmacologic intervention; and consultation to parents interested in learning more about their children’s conditions and optimizing compensatory skills as well as behavioral management techniques used at home. Before returning to Chicago in 2013, Dr. Albert was a practice owner at Connecticut Pediatric Neuropsychology Associates. She also held a Clinical Associate appointment in the University of Connecticut Medical School’s Department of Psychiatry, where she was involved in the training of Postdoctoral Fellows in Pediatric Neuropsychology. Dr. Albert is licensed as a clinical psychologist in both Illinois and Connecticut. She sees patients at the Orland Park location.
